At times, a student-athlete may remove a statistic or event from their Key Stats page. When they do, the stat should disappear from their Coach facing Profile/Preview Profile. However, at times, the stat may remain on the profile even after being deleted in the UI. Furthermore, attempts to visit the Edit Key Stats page will reveal that the stat information is still not able to be deleted.
This is because of a quirk in the RMS code that does not scrub key stats from the database when the event is removed. As such, the statistic still has a record in the DB, which is then pulled up by the Preview Profile page.
This guide will illustrate what that looks like, as well as how to fully remove the statistic within the UI of the RMS.
Step 1: Identify the Statistic that needs to be Removed
Ex. Aaron Iaun has updated their Track Events. They no longer want their time for the 4x800M event listed on their profile and have removed that event from their Key Stats page. However, their listed time is still listed on their Preview Profile.
As such, the 4x800M event will need to be edited & removed in the Key Stats page.
Step 2: Re-add the Event/Statistic that needs to be Removed on the Key Stats page
On the Edit Key Stats page, select 'Edit', then 'Add Another Event'. Select the correct statistic from the Dropdown Menu.
Step 3: Edit/Remove All Statistical Information from the Event/Statistic, then Click Update
Scroll down until you come to the statistical information and delete everything. For timed events, reset the dropdown to 'Choose One:". Once everything has been deleted and/or reset, click 'Update'. The changes will be saved. (Note: This will close out the Edit Key Stats pop-up window. This is fine. You'll be revisiting this in the next step.)
Step 4: Remove the Event or Statistic
Click 'Edit Key Stats' one more time. Scroll down to confirm that all statistical information has been deleted and saved correctly. Once verified, go to the event/stat dropdown and remove the event (marking it as the blank option in the dropdown menu). Once nulled out, click 'Update'.
Step 5: Confirm that the Statistic has been removed
Refresh the Preview Profile page. The statistic should now be deleted from the SA's profile.
Note: sometimes, duplicate records will be saved to a student-athlete's profile, so a new set of information may appear for that event. In this instance, simply repeat Steps 1-5 to remove additional stats. (This is an edge case that does not occur frequently.)
Areas of Issue
If a student-athlete switches sports (ex. Baseball to Men's Basketball), statistics may remain because they have not been deleted in the UI. Because of the sport switch, however, these stats will no longer be available to add or edit in the UI. In these cases, please submit a ticket to Platform Ops for statistic removal.
